She lives in San Antonio with her husband David, and mini-schnauzer, Cabbie. Heloise and her husband are high flyers—being hot-air balloonists, owning the Heloise Hot Air Balloon. And Heloise tandem-jumped with the Army Golden Knights Parachute Team in January 2O09. She and David also are Ural motorcycle enthusiasts, riding theirs around Texas.

Heloise Hint: Cleaning terra-cotta pots. If you notice a white residue, empty the pot, wash it with soap and water, scrub it, then rinse it. Next, wipe down the pot with full-strength white vinegar to remove the white residue, which usually is mineral deposits.
